thats one mint s1 engine bay, the most stock i've seen yet, you must spend plenty of time polishing in there

hahaha.... well.... about that....

This photo was taken like a week after i bought the car.
Since then the inlet manifold punch a hole through a corroded part and sprayed coolant everywhere, and also when I replaced it, i didnt bother taking the writing off of it from the wrecker...

So it doesnt look quite as nice now. haha.

I see a lot of commies with the pod installed like that... i personally dont like it.
Any gain from free flowing filter will be lost through gasping in hot engine bay air.
I much prefer the idea of a free flow panel filter in the airbox with a CAI in terms of looking good and doing the job properly.
But i do like the metal intake pipe... can you buy those premade or make up yourself?

Yeah, i got mine from autobarn about a year ago. Can't remember how much i paid, think it was about $120? but it is a prefab pipe and comes with a cheap pod. I am considering getting a 90 degree bend and mounting the pod under that panel the air box bolts to but i will need to make up some sort of mud guard as its all open to the left wheel.
