Side to side play in gear stick

Hey boys and girls, just bought a VY Commodore and it has quite a bit of play in the gearstick. I have read that there could be a worn bush at the bottom of the gear stick??? First time Holden owner looking for a bit of advice before pulling things apart. Chur

Talk to your Holden dealer, they will have a bush kit.

Pretty sure they'll always have side to side movement. Unless you want a tight as fk gearlever that takes a muscleman to change gears...
Does it have up down?

Helmotbros, not trolling haha Always had Jappas and just seems waaay too much play to be normal...Holden novice right here.

Wombles, theres a lil bit of up and down, but about 4inches left to right.

Thats pretty standard though you can get a billet shifter which tidies that all up.
