I think everyone is keen to hear his story since cams for the ve sv6 are still in development at the moment.

i agree as its only in early stagers & no power figures yet have been annouced like official readings on paper so how would some one know its not worth it! honestly if people want to spend the $$$ once its released then why not & if they think its worth it

I don't see any point in spending all that money on a v6 for a tiny gain when if you want more power put it towards an 8

maybe insurance costs alot more for some people in an 8 than in a 6??

Yeah but not a lot and once you add modifications like that onto your insurance there probably won't be much difference

Actually depending on your insurance company there can be a massive difference
RACQ - Once I had my Fibreglass bonnet installed wanted over $1000 a year
NRMA - Don't care what modifications are on the vehicle as long as it remains Street Legal, costing just shy of $650 a year

I'm 31, never had an accident, never made a claim, been solo driving since 16 and 6 months...

The person that'll do full exhaust, otr cai, cam and tune could possibly get the same power as a stock ss but with better fuel economy.

Full exhaust - $2500 (full stainless, being generous)
OTR CAI - $700 (fitted)
Tune - $550 (Mace)
Cam - $1100 (Mace)
Total - SV6 $36,990 (Holden Price) + Mods $4850 = $41,840

SS - $41,990

saving $150, IF you don't shop around and bargin

Mods will probably be even cheaper if all of those are done at once and the 6's are already 100kg lighter than an ss.
