Received my MACE E85 tune today. Ran the car down to near empty, filled it with E85 (71ltrs @ $1.23/l) and then sat in the servo with the lappy on a shirt on the roof playing Solitaire until the flash finished....got some pretty odd looks. Started and idled no dramas but have only managed to put about 30ks on it so far. The car felt quite sharp! Will do some more driving tomorrow and will also collect some logs to send off. Will update on pants dyno and fuel consumption over the next week.

Cheers

You're better off converting to liquid injected lpg. 110 Ron @ 55c a litre. My cammed auto ss is cheaper to run than a vw 1.4 tsi

Roughly what does that cost, and is there much difference in power etc

im assuming that this is for an sv6, i thought you can only use e85 on my12 sv6 models as earlier models are not suitable.

Yeah that sounds good. Got any ideas where I can get that done on a LLT ie specific kits etc? Haven't looked at gas options as is probably a bit more expensive than a tune. Thought I'd give sugar cane a crack.

Yeah Vicarious I guess is a bit of a risk but is approved for E10 and I'm fairly confindent that it is essentially the same engine as the MY12. Warranty is long gone anyway :)

Icom JTG cost me $4750 - $1750 rebate so $3000. 30000km to break even. Mines using 15 litres per 100 in the city @ 55c a litre. Under 10 on the freeway. I can only imagine a sv6 would be better. From all accounts on a stock l98 without any other mods, the Icom JTG will give you a 10rwkw increase.

Quick drive today. WOW what a difference greatly improved response down low (like strong power from under 2k and pulls clean (no flat spots) through to at least 6k. Still need to do more k's to settle it in and collect some data but ####-me what a difference!! Even with new good tyres and the LSD it wants to spin in second when under the pump I'm impressed thus far...hopefully nothing will go bang :)

Here is some further reading on an E85 tune for the LLT http://camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=153071#post3344260
