You have to have the SSV or Calais centre console upgrade, which has the schematics built into it and the buttons on the facia to be able to control the HVAC (dual zone).
Was pretty easy. Which style console you choose will depend on your current model, SV6 / SS = SSV console, Omega / Berlina = Calais console.

Find a wreck SSV or Calais. Get the centre console and the HVAC to go with it. Get it programmed with your VIN (plenty of people on forums and Facebook groups, just ask where) and it will plug and play when installed.

The only thing that wont work is the outside temp.

Hi Joker, thank you for your quick reply. I should have elaborated a little more, I have a 60th anniversary Omega sportswagon that I upgraded the radio to a Series 2 Calais. The omega has only a single zone air con. and I was wondering how hard it would be to convert to a dual zone air con.
What you said was partly right, but you will need to solder resistors to the HVAC board to fool it to thinking that you have a dual system otherwise no air con. and error codes. What I've found out is that you will need:
1x Dual Zone Sun Load Sensor - 25713063
1 x Ambient Temperature Sensor - 09152245
1 x Interior Temperature Sensor - 92171917
1 x Interior Sensor Duct Hose - 92192336
1 x Passenger Side Temperature Flap Regulator Motor - 92192343 Those are the parts needed to convert single to dual zone, has anyone done this conversion? If so, how hard was it to do?

Not sure man. Once I got my dash apart, I swapped out the HVAC and the centre console in about 10 mins. Put it all back together and it all worked.
I went from S1 SV6 to S1 SSV. I’ve seen other early S1 Omegas upgrade to the Series 2 IQ with no issues either.

no mate. I had single zone. Now I have dual.
Was completely plug and play, just had to get the console VIN programmed.
It all works, dual zone, auto climate control.
Only thing that doesn't work is the outside temp.

But anyway - good luck with yours.

My car came with dual zone but I have only ever used it in single zone mode, dont really see the point of it.

It's handy if your cold-blooded partner is sitting on the passenger seat...
