sluggish after having sat for a few mths

Hi I got given another car ( ford , dont tell anyone ) and was going to keep the vs as a spare in case . It ran fine when I parked it but now after at least 3mths of sitting idle its very sluggish . I decided to sell it as a wreck and it was sold for $150 . I had plans of running it once a week but that lasted about 2 weeks ! Now when the new owner went to put it on the car trailer it would barely pull the skin off of a custard .He wanted for his kids to go bush bashing so I feel a little bad how it runs .And when I mean sluggish it barely made it up on the trailer . What could go wrong just sitting there . Is it just bad fuel or could something else be at play ? Its almost like the tranie is slipping , its a auto .Cheers Michael
