look up/google OBD11 or tech2 for vz and guys have all sorts off apps to use with, laptop, android phones, and apple gear as well, so if you are a bit of a technophobe you should be right, I just went out and bought an OBD11 To help me out if needed, VE, VZ, CRUZE, 2x ASTRA'S, ETC

That sounds like a plan as the missus has a 2011 cruze & its could save a truckload of head aches with both oour cars.
Cheers for the tip

that's a good bit of kit, wish I'd known about it 18mths ago, I bought the scan tool from supercheap - Actron, about $170 and am very pleased with it, it has already paid for itself, two misfire faults (they just don't make pats like they used to) one senor (o2) betweent the cruze and Astra's, ve,vz, perfect
