So I've just found my car covered in white overspray.....

####ing everywhere. The whole ####ing thing.

A fine mist of white over my metallic black, with a few bigger spots too.

I am so pissed off.

The good news, I can clay bar it off the paint, it doesn't come off very easy, but it appear to clay bar off ok and not damage the paint.

Can anyone suggest how to get it off all the plastics? Window rubbers? Windows?

ARGHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I could kill the idiot who did it!

Do you know which idiot did it? He should pay for it to be professionally cleaned.

Few bigger spots? I would be thinking someone was very close to the car as that sounds like splatter to me from a spray can.

Windows can use acetone, turps can leave a film but rinse what you use off with soapy water
Same with the rubber, turps should do the trick.

Actually should do the trick on the paint as well, may take a minute to soften but should work
Then rinse with soapy water, polish/wax

Solvents like turps, metho and isopropyl alcohol will be 100% fine to use on my paint, rubber and windows?

And will not damage them in any way?

What about prepsol?

Turps is fine, as long as you wash it away after finishing.

How to Remove Paint Spots From Your Car | eHow

Plenty of resources on the net to check.
Only thing is acetone, can damage paintwork if left for too long.

Only issues which i reckon can happen, if that depending on colour, might see swirl marks from using the cloth you use.

But try in a small patch, amount of time needed to soften the overspray and cleanup.
All of the solvents you mentioned should be fine.

At the end of the day I can always polish out the swirls cant I?

I'll be using microfiber cloths, is that what I should be using?

I use really fine grade steel wool (craft wool) to remove overspray from my windows. Works a treat so long as you're not rough with it

I would use rags, and for normal car polishing use the microfiber ones

Trial and error.

I would so a panel at a time, then soapy water it once complete.

When whole car is done, full wash, and everything else
