This section needs a little more boat action in it.
Sold the bike & Bought a Boat............... Should have just bought the boat in the first place.
The bike was a hell of a lot of fun, but I like been able to share my hobbies and the enjoyment I get out of them with other people
Living with-in the moretenbay region the areas where you able to go fishing are an angelers dream, where have several artificial reefs in the bay and plenty of local river systems.
I mostly spend my time in the Pine River as it's the closest, however I do the occasional trip to the reefs of Peel island, and visits to the mouth of the Brisbane river (not that i've had any luck)
It's a Clark Abalone 1980's Model With a Aluminum Extension to the Bow with a Suzuki DT30 03 model
All the Good stuff, EPIRB, Power Tilt and Trim system, Sounder, GPS, 40L in floor tank, All Required Nav Lights, ect. ect.
Very Comfortable boat for two people, Cruses at about 25ish Knots
Great for crabbing, I can easily fit my 8 Pots with out having to collapse them all the time
Bought it from a bloke that had it sitting around for about 12 Months Out in the Weather, Was a risk but the price was right.
The condition it was in when I first bought
First it required a Massive clear out under the floor (Sticks, leaves, guts ect. ect.)
The Old shitty plywood Floor needed to be replaced, so I replaced that with Form Ply & Carpeted it.
Installed New LED Lighting strips for fishing a crabbing of a night (pic's don't do justice for how good these are)
Upgraded the sounder to a Lowrance Elite 5x DSI Model. The Structure scan & details that this gives off is unbelievable
These are bridge pillions with bait schools around them
The Trailer also needed attention, all the rollers had completely seized & their support brackets were rusted & an able to be adjusted
So Pulled the boat of the trailer, cut off all the old brackets and installed all new rollers and brackets. Also gave the trailer a quick lick of paint to match the trailer.
How She Sits on the water
Easily Tow's a tube
Plans for the near future:
Will be adding some seating soon, would like to do some day trips to the tangalooma wrecks with the missus. The 45min trip there standing won't be too fun standing up.
Need to replace the canvas roof of the T Top. Not quite sure what I want to use the replace it. I was thinking a Very thing sheet of aluminum
The Old Garmin GPS units died, so I will be pulling that out this weekend. I don't need it, there is an app called Navionics which is just as good as a $2000 chart plotter.
Need to replace the anodes on the motor and she needs a lick of paint too, Also giving it a lube service this weekend.
Would like to re-power it with a 50Hp but not in a hurry.
Will keep adding to this thread of recent catch's, and updates to the boat.
