VE series 2 SS Sportwagon Black Manual
Hey Guys,
I ve gone out and taken the plunge and got myself a series 2 ss sportswagon manual. i just want to know what i can realistically expect to get fuel milage?ive heard everything ranging from 10l/100k all the way up 17l/100k. and has anyone done some big interstate trips and how far have you got on one tank of petrol? planning on doing a drive from adelaide to canberra.
cheers

Depends on the trip. I got high 8's to low 9's depending on the country side. Even got low 9's on the E3 and now it's more mid 9's since it's cammed. 17L/100 and there is something very wrong or you are towing.

Remember to reset your trip meter as it takes forever to adjust.. my car gets down into high 8`s if I really baby it on the high way it's a tuned V8 if I drive around town then do a 4 hour highway trip I'll be lucky to see 12.. so make sure you reset it once you get on highway.

my Series I SSvmanual wagon was getting low 8s on long country trips...mainly around 8.2l/100km
but
it looks like my new SII manual wagon may even be better. Went to PI at the weekend to run the
race car in a sprint event at the Island. Filled the car back up this morning and was pleasantly
surprised to have gotten 12.4l/100km...from towing a 1650kg race car/trailer combo down and back! :)
The SI version was struggling to better 13...

2011 VE SSV redline wagon
In my 2011 ssv redline wagon I have never got below 10L/100 I have driven to and from nsw-Sa twice there n back that's sitting on cruise Controll at 110km/h almost the whole way.

Towing my boat back once fully loaded wagon and 1 ton boat sitting around 110-120 I was getting average 17-18L/100 on cruise Controll.

No idea how you can get below 10/ even babying it driving on dead flat roads It does not go below.

I had a 2010 ssv redline ute which I did 9000kms in it before trading it in for the wagon and it never went below 10's too.. Now the wagon has 22,000kms on it and it's the same economy..

On an open road without having to overtake mine will sit on 9.8 liters but if there is a few trucks and Victorians with their gay caravans to overtake i average about 10.5 which I'm pretty happy with.
