Hey guys!
Recently upgraded my vyss to a 2010 ssv se and overall I am very impressed, looks like a beast!.
But theres a small niggling vibration which is more of a "knock" i can feel on my feet through the floor pan, it becomes noticable
at around 60-70kph then dissapears and turns into a random on/off steering wheel vibration at around 110kph+. What do you guys think could be the problem? have any of you had a similiar experience?
I'd like to put it down to my paranoia about noises/vibrations tho haha.

cheers

Mine does something similar and Holden are yet to fix it, but is going in again on Monday. This time I will hand them this tech note;

#PIC4989: Drive Line Boom Noise And/Or Vibration - (Oct 2, 2008)

Subject: Drive Line Boom Noise and/or Vibration

Models: 2008-2009 Pontiac G8
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI.

Condition/Concern:
There may be a either a boom noise or vibration and in some cases both a noise & vibration detected in a very few 2008 & 2009 G8's. This condition may be detected by customers at speeds of 55-65 MPH on either 08 or 09 G8's. The noise could be described as a low frequency boom or moan noise (not a whine) coming through the body. The vibration is generally felt in the seat or the floor pan. The condition could be caused by either a misaligned center support bearing assembly or the prop shaft mounting to the differential yoke.

Recommendation/Instructions:
The prop shaft center support mount is slotted left to right and can be adjusted by loosening the bolts which are accessible through holes in the metal shield between the prop shaft & the floor sheet metal. After loosening the center support bolts you can use a pry bar between the prop shaft & floor to adjust the center support. If the alignment isn't correct the prop shaft will usually "snap over" into proper location with very little input.

If the condition is both noise & vibration felt through the floor, re-indexing the prop shaft to the differential yoke may have to be performed:

Mark the relative alignment of the propshaft, rubber coupling, and differential in the original position.
Number the nut and bolt pairs and their hole in the rubber coupling which join the rubber coupling to the differential (silver) and the nut and bolts which join the propshaft to the rubber coupling (black).
Remove rubber coupling from differential and propshaft, ensure the nut and bolt pairs are kept together.
Re-assemble indexing the rubber coupling and silver bolts clockwise (relative to differential), and the propshaft and black bolts counter clockwise (relative to differential).
Please follow this diagnostic or repair process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.

Yeah I read about that somewhere before, holden told me it's because of the new tyres etc and to drive it for 1000k's or so and see if it goes away then get a balance.
Bit sceptical , it doesn't feel like tyre wear/road vibration I'll no doubt be getting a second opinion. Let us know how you go with yours mate.

There's a revised gearbox mount for that issue , had mine changed couple of weeks ago under warranty.

I was standing next to the tech when he looked it up on the comp and the heading was vibration at 110 kmh .

I had a similar issue as what lease1 described above but the new mount fixed it up.

My E2 has been getting an oil leak fixed for the last 2 days, leaking from the rear main i think will find out when i pick it up later.

Update:
The vibration through the wheel @ 100kmh + ended up being a wheel balance issue. All is sweet with that but the knock vibration through the floor pan
is still there. Very noticeable when going 40-60kmh and again braking to those speeds, it's a continuous knock you can feel through the floor and pedals
like somthing rotating out of alignment if that makes sense.

get your wheel bearings/hub checked next time you go in for service that kind of noise can travel right through a car

I get the same vibration through the vehicle at 110Kms. Been back to Holdens 4 times. Now I need to take one of their technicians with me to prove the vibration exists.
Am I the only one with this problem?
Do you know the fix for this?
