I wasn't that impressed either. it didn't feel like star wars, not that I'm really into the series anyway. it feels just like any other franchise reboot. basically find a weakness in a super-weapon, then blow it up. been there, done that already.
Ford portrayed Solo as a kind of drunk almost, kind of like jack sparrow in space. as for what happened to him - could see that coming from a mile away. finn's character - what a joke. he's more annoying than binks. it's the first film I've seen with ridley's acting and she's kind of meh, considering that it seems possible that her character and ren are probably going to end up being related somehow anyway. leia seems to be portrayed as a tired old woman which is disappointing.
of course it's going to get rave reviews and break box office records because the fanboys will make sure of that. will I see episode 8 in the cinema? probably not.
