starter motor clip

hey guys

just wondering the name of it? the power cable you connect to the starter the clip on the end broke off so cant bolt it to starter
anyone have a link or name please

Assuming you mean the thin wire to the starter. Most Commodore starters have a spade terminal on there.

Crimps onto the wire. I used a brass female spade terminal and put heat shrink over it to protect against shorting.

Head to any autoparts store or auto electrician and they'll have the electrical connector you need

That’s not so simple.

To replace the main battery to starter cable end is going to require inspection of the cable. If that has come away, the cable is unlikely to be in great shape as a conductor. Crusty and green isn’t great. Also it will end up a bit shorter and not be able to fit well.

It may require a new cable with a new eyelet hydraulically crimped on the end. That requires the battery harness to be removed and repaired. It is a separate harness on both V6 and V8.

These are the eyelets that are hydraulically crimped to the cable.

You might find it easier to get another battery harness off eBay.
