steering wheel noise

When i turn my steering wheel, it makes a noise that everyone describes as having low p/s fluid. The fluid level is ok, but the steering is a litle heavy. I dunno if at has something to do with the power steering or just the wheel? anyone got any ideas??

Do you have a leak somewhere near the steering rack?? How is your pump??

there is no leak and i'm not losing any fluid. As far as i can tell the pump is ok but i would need to know wat to look for on a bad pump.

What's the tyre pressure and what size tyre are you using?

yeah i don't understand, on my vr the steering will feel qutie heavy when i first turn the car on, but it only happens like once out of every 50 starts.....it's only heavy sometimes, i don't get it. pump was replaced a while ago, there are no leaks, etc. and if you're wondering, it doesn't get heavy when it's cold, it just becomes heavy whenever it feels like it, and the heaviness hangs around for about 3 mins MAX, then the steering is fine.

oldmate, do you hear a little knocking sound when to turn the wheel when stationary, and you just start taking off? this is another problem i have experienced with the vr and dont know what the hell is going on.

also when it gets heavy, it seems a bit reluctant to spin back the opposite way when you release the wheel....very strange. commodores, great cars, cheap, go hard, etc. i love them, but they have annoying issues

ill put money on the pump needing a rebuild. on the first start of the day mine as others have said sounds like it has no fluid in it for every so often while turning
