Carbon build up in the throttle body. Remove the throttle body assembly and clean the throat and butterfly thoroughly. Pay particular attention to the edge of the butterfly to make sure you get it absolutely free of any carbon. It's that carbon that causes the butterfly to stick.

Hopefully that explains the rough idle and poor economy atm too. Cheers

If the TB hasn't been cleaned properly for quite a while you will be surprised at the amount of crap that accumulates in there.

Just spraying TB cleaner down the throat won't do a proper job. That's why you need to remove it to do it thoroughly.

Also wouldn't be silly to spray crc down the throttle cable while you have it off, hold it up in the air so the crc will run back down the throttle cable

Also crc the return spring, they dry up a bit from degreasing the engine.

there is a pipe running from the air box and air intake snorkel , that attaches to the throttle body , you'll need a small socket to remove the hose clamp .
