How long is a piece of string?

Without mods, no real point at all

Without any mods you will gain power and potentially improve fuel consumption, with mods you will gain more power. Simples.

At least get an exhaust to get some sound out of the LS1 then get a tune if you really want or just leave as is.

    Hi Jayozi,
As 'crewchief' said: even on a stock motor you will find gains with a Tune. Although modifications in conjunction with a tune will unlock even more gains.
You can expect an increase in Horsepower, an improvement in torque, better fuel economy and even a more responsive throttle.

A tune = money well spent!

If you are getting it Dyno tuned, at least get a Catback and Intake done beforehand.

More power, better economy. Worth every cent.

If I was going to It over again I`d get one of these HP tuners/vcm suites or EFI lives flash scan. If you are computer literate that is, also there is plenty of help on the manufactures website including forums too.

On my LS1 Trans Am, a tune was money well spent. Had mine done on the Dyno was 400 US dollars. Worth every penny.

In the USA tunes are pretty cheap and most tuners will update the tune for a small fee, where as here is Australia a tune can cost you $1000.
I bought efi live a year and half ago, and it was money well spent. Its a huge learning curve with efi live. But its nice to drive around with your controller and see what your engine is doing.
Now I just have to learn how to tune with a wideband.
And as long as you make small changes at time, your engine should be safe.
