Stop lights blowing

Hi guys, i have a VP ute its been such a good car....But i keep blowing both brake globes. I put new ones in and they work. The moment i turn the car on and press the brake they blow straight away. Any suggestions would be great.

Where are you getting your globes from ?
Tried some better quality globes ?

Yeah mate tried several different brands both cheap and expensive

Sounds like your alternator may be putting out a higher voltage than normal. Measure the battery voltage with the engine running.

Using 21/5W globes? If you put your parking lights on instead of pressing the brake pedal do any globes blow?

Is the centre mounted brake light working OK?

Also,i've fixed a couple of these over the years,replace the little switch on the brake pedal arm.Whilst under the dash also check the wires from the switch aren't rubbing or caught somewhere under there.

Park lights are working, until i put my foot on the brake, sorry for the late reply
