STRANGE IQ Problem!

Hey again folks,
Just a quick one for anyone who knows about electrical..
i have 95% less chance of getting a USB device error when turning off the ignition if my GPS is plugged into my cigarette lighter...
if the gps is unplugged i almost get USB device error every time i turn ignition off..
What does this mean?

Try a different USB stick.

I have tried 6 different brands.
San disk seems to work ok, still the same thing if gps is unplugged.
Dodgy haha
