stretched timing chaim

Can anyone tell me how long a timing chain takes to stretch? months years kms???? its out by a tooth and a half.

well not sure about cars.but if cant happen in motorbikes.so the theory should be the same..to actaully skip teeth means your tensoiner has failed completely.then jumping teeth.this in theory would bend your valves and stuff your motor.cant happen and still drive your car. stretched chain yea a bit noisy.another tricked we did on bikes was to remove the tensoiner and put a tiny spacer in the body too put more tensoin on the chain

What engine are you talking about?[/QUOTE dosent matter any enginge.if your cam timming has skipped teeth means your motor timming is out. no computer can adjust it.common scence really. basic engine knowledge really. thats why you line up dots/ count chain links while installing any cam. a cam out on teeth means valves open /closeing at the wrong time off piston stroke.===bent valves
