Strutting Bonnet

[3800VK]

I have done this using vk tailgate struts from the foward most bonnet mount bolt to one of the quater panel bolts. The tailgate strut mount bolts are the same thread at the top and fit into a nut at the bottom by pulling the clip from under the hole. Problem is I can't get the bonnet to sit flush with the quater panel, it sits up a bit higher. Anyone overcome this???

the bonnet is at the front of the car and the quarter panel is at the back of the car.

I assume you mean the front guards.

I used VS bonnet struts like vk ones have a bolt on one end that is the same thread as one of the bonnet hinge holes.

The other side had to have a hole drilled in the inner guard to mount the bolt.

before drilling the hole i made sure the bonnet would close properly, did you do this?.

also u might want to check the diameter of the vk strut as it could be thicker than the vs strut which could be ur problem.
