I understand that amps change with load, but what I'm talking about isn't necessarily load related.

Newer vehicles have voltage variable alternators that are controlled by the ECM/BCM depending on what the car needs to do and the environment that it is operating in.

As slick said. Aren't the ve's done like that. So couldn't it be that my settings are wrong.

Ricey u said it should sit up near 14 volts. It did that no dramas on the first day. So I'm thinking the battery isn't getting fully charged because bcm or whatever controls the alternator has the wrong settings
