Lol, I heard there's no actual law that states a roof has to be to a certain standard, the example given was "you could have a roof made of lasagna" and it wouldn't matter... This was a while back, and I'm pretty sure it applied to companies not individuals.. Oh well a nice FYI

I trained as a motor trimmer and sunroof installer. Most trimmers will be able to do the install however a second hand roof would not be recommended as the potential for leaks and poor fitment is too great. Go brand new. As far as factory fitted goes, most car yards since vs commodores would get you to place an order for the car and if you wanted a sunroof then the vehicle would be sent off to a motor trimmer to have it installed. Very few came direct from the factory.

you will find that 90% of commodores and falcons with sunroofs are not factory fitted but a dealer option

Yea i agree with that, was talking to the owner at prestige sunroofs and he said the same. They asked me if i was a dealer haha
