VS Only came with one diff option and that is the M78 (which is in reality a M75 gear set on a M78 4 spider centre) with 3.08 ratio.

It was only from VT onward that Holden used 2 different size diff and different ratio's for auto and manual cars. HSV was different again.

Holden really were lazy with their diff options (or rather lack there off) for the 2nd gen Commodores.

If it's a factory fit it would have to be a Calais as Superchargers weren't available in anything else until VT.

Could be optioned up on Berlina's and Statesman's too and started at Series 2. Don't think it was there for Exec's though.

Ok so i had a bit of time today so i got under the car and ive found it has a lsd tag and this number.

Can anyone tell me what this number means and ive noticed it only has 2 bolts going into the tallshaft and 2 holes without a bolt one you might be able to get it through but the other you couldnt it doesnt line up.

Is this a m80 diff bolted on dodgy without changing the flange ?
