Hi I have a sc6 vt and noticed the pulley of the supercharger slides back under acceleration and rubs on the body of the SC ,Is this just a pulley problem or is it more than that. I remember reading somewhere here but cannot find the pulley removal procedure with a tool if someone can advise would be much appreciated and a price on pulley if known, cheers frank

What sort of pulley system do you have ? What size is it ? You can only go down to a certain size before needing to machine the snout.

Your problem sounds weird... it may be the pulley has worked loose and is moving back and forth on the shaft... but the original pulley is press fitted with over 30ton of pressure.

Is the shaft moving in and out with the pulley also ?

There is an inner spring which pushes the other end of the shaft into the coupler on the blower vane gears inside the housing. If that spring has broken that may explain the in and out movement. But you would see the shaft moving in and out of the housing if this were the problem...also the coupler is likely to need replacing if this is the case.

see here for a pull down shot of the blower snout to see what I'm talking about.

Thanks sixshooter,It seems i have 2 problems I'm pretty sure the pulley is original but might have been removed before (unsure)it seems to move on the shaft under solid accelration and after i removed the belt to check it out and try and tap it back to position I also noticed that the shaft is now moving in and out 1cm under solid stress, I might have to go and a specialist. does anyone know one a repairer who does the M90 SC in melbourne prefer northern suburbs cheers
