SV6 diff

[SV6NZ]

I have a 2004 SV6 auto
and was just wondering how i can tell if it has the LSD diff?
is this standard to that model or dealer opp?

i think the 05 models are standard with LSD .... but the way you can tell is, jack up one rear wheel, and put the car in neutral, and a brick infront/behind the front wheels ..... then turn the wheel thats in the air ....

if its really tight then you most probably have an LSD, if it spins freely then its not LSD.

from feb 05 sv6s came standard with an lsd. So no urs does not have one from standard but i could be optioned up with one. And i think from memory if you look at the diff from under the car im pretty sure mine says LSD on the housing.

If its an 04 it wont have an LSD unless you or whoever bought it new optioned it.. There will also be a Tag on the diff center saying LSD

NO LSD for you yeah unless its optioned, check for the little metal tag that will say "LSD"

on my tag it has high performance in big letters and something written smaller that i cant make out cause i cant fit under the car and its gettin dark..

and cant u tell by the axle code under the bonnet on the ID plate????

Guys, if it has the "High performance" tag then it is an LSD diff! And yes in 2005 they did come as standard. And yes another way is to jack up the rear!

at my work we have a couple of sv6's that we are working on for the ambulance service and they are brand new. and they have a diffrent diff to mine. but mine has the high performance tag and spins both wheels. wots the go with that. did they change there diff or something

Mine is supposed to have an LSD. Got stuck on a dirt road..and it didnt./
