You really need a bidirectional scan tool to go any further. That will access all the data from the cars network. Not just codes but the data relating to them.

Firstly who ever diagnosed the ECM fault will be able to tell you those things.

I don’t like workshops that jump at the ECM as a fault without giving the customer the data that supports that diagnosis. There are so many things that can cause what you are experiencing and a faulty ECM.

What will you do if the ECM is replaced at huge cost and the fault appears again?

Well through determination and reading up on here and figuring it out myself the ECU gets hot and that's when it stalls

Start it up wait for it to stop running and stick a wet towel with ice on the ECU for 2 minutes and see if it starts.
If it does then you can be certain it's your ECU and it's a common enough fault anyway.
