SV6 MY12.5 series 2 sports wagon
Gday,
Just two days ago I purchased a VE SV6 Sports wagon 2013... When going over the top crest of my driveway the middle underbody scraped on the way to work this morning.

I could be wrong (haven't had a look yet) but at first glance it appears that only thick plastic plates that are lower than the sides slide on the driveway - would this be right? So no risk of scraping metal causing rust etc...

But,, its bloody annoying!!! I just want a simple solution to lift the car in height even just 10mm as this would create enough clearance.. Open to ideas??

Thanks mate,, Ill ring around for a suspension mob to do this.. It only needs to be lifted 10mm and thats enough- any more is a bonus. Is this a big job/ any idea of cost? cheers..

10mm spring spacer bush would be about $50-$100 for front and rear.

Or fit standard springs instead of FE2

Ill ring around regarding the bush. cheers for the heads up.

You sure standard springs will lift the car? Just did some online research on SV6 2013 vs Commodore International 2013 and both specs are 110mm ground clearance or am i not taking into account the larger standard wheel size of my sv6? cheers.

On the build plate under the bonnet, it was state what suspension it has. FE2 or STD is what it will say. If STD, you can measure your car against the number you get when measuring.

It could have lowered springs on it?
If they are std. get the urethane coil bushes in.

Just had a look and yes it has FE2 suspension... The cars not crazy low so i doubt it has been lowered. At the end of the day it slides along the plastic aero covers but its still annoying enough for me to want to do something about it...

Regarding cost for swapping suspension i know i would be up for $1000+ on a good day of the week so i may look into the urethane coil bushes and hopefully have some change from $500 for it.

You could swap FE2 with STD.
