I use to run mineral engine oil, but made the switch to fully synthetic about two years ago because it was cheap. I have always run Penrite engine oils, as well as my father in his TD42 Patrol. No issues whatsoever, and service schedules are maintained.

I also sample both mine and my father's engine oil at work myself and send second bottles to ALS Labs for testing. It's also free. Basically a particle count is made and a check of the fluid properities against the standard fluid.

The samples always come back servicable and no indicators of premature engine wear.

correctly adjusted roller rockers should have a slight tapping noise. your argument is invalid.

:D

(p.s. now im just **** stirring)

One of these days.......pow right in the kisser :p

Trust me it was anything but normal. I'm talking embarrassingly loud tapping.

Maybe I should move to Nulon....

I would still have to go Mineral as Nulon doesn't have a synthetic in the viscosity I use (20W60)

Maybe you have a midget living in your engine bay?

Yay! Best thing is always to change oils till a mechanical problem goes away.
