Ok ive read so many threads now and the tacho wont work. Now from what I can tell its a VR V8. Ive identified the negative brown and xommected the tacho up and no go. Ive tryed the wire at the cluster from what I can understand and no go. The tacho is live and lit up. Is there some way to tell if the wires are faulty etc? Is there another way. The tachonis new and undamaged. Thanks advance.

Common problem is where the plug goes into the dash, the membrane get hair line cracks in it, fuel, temp and tacho can play up... A hard thump on the top of the dash will test this most time... If its the membrane, you can hard wire it or very carefully repair the tracks
