Hi guys so my tailshaft coupling on the transmission side gave out well kinda blew up lol.
When I picked it up off the road I found a small round metal part with it untill yesterday I had no idea what it was called or where it went but the store told me it's called a centering bush and that's what they even put on the reciept.
Now my problem is im only guessing that one end of it goes into the slip yoke and the other end the tailshaft the reason I guess that is coz the old one fits into the yoke and it's got a small brass or copper insert on the other side looks pretty close to the size of the tailshaft pin.
So im here to ask u awesome people of I am correct or not and also how do I put it back in coz the new one is a super tight fit into the yoke.
Here is a link to the pics of the old and new part im talking about thank u guys in advance.

It should be a tight fit as it is supposed to centre the drive shaft onto the diff spigot. The rubber coupling is really only there to transfer power, not centre the drive shaft. If the drive shaft is off centre than when rotating it will induce vibration/harmonics.

Makes sense the only thing is its not from the diff end tho.
And also how do I put it back in without ruining it like do I grease it up and somehow get it in the yoke first or should I attach it to the tailshaft first

The yoke end goes on first, the yoke should be able to slide into the transmission far enough to then get the diff end on.

Normally you leave the yoke end attached to the drive shaft (well I do), unbolt, the diff coupling, unbolt the centre mount and slide the whole drive shaft forward to get it off the diff spigot and then slide the drive shaft backwards until the yoke comes out of the transmission. Installation is the reverse of removal.

Awesome thank u and also my diff end is still attached and fine do u mean the bush goes in the yoke and then threw the coupling to attach to the tailshaft

Also while I got u here would u have any advice on how to clean the inside of that yoke in my pics coz it has some small metal shavings inside it from the old bush being smashed up so bad

Compressed air, small brush. What ever works to get the crap out.

The whole front coupling, yoke and drive shaft are assembled before the yoke is put back into the transmission. See

"Update"
So I took the centering bush and the yoke plus a small little black piece I also found to a transmission specialist today and asked if they could put the bush in the yoke for me as it was so tight I did not think I could get it in myself.
Well turns out that the bush needed to be put in the yoke by a press so glad I did take it to them coz $20 cashy probs for his lunch he put it in here is a pic of it all back together now before I put them back in the car.
