I have a VK SL 3.3l black 202 6 cylinder
I have put a VH distributor and disconnected the EST
All the gauges work except for temp? I have checked the wire and have replaced the sender but still does not work? Do i have to by pass the temp sensor that the EST was using?

Thanks phil

I did the same with my VK and the temp gauge worked fine. My temp gauge did screw up once and was the power transistor (voltage regulator) moumted on the printed circuit board went faulty.

The EST 202 has 2 temp sensors, one at the front is the sensor for the computer, and small sender down the back drivers side of the head for the gauge, check you havent just unplugged it.

I've disconnected the Est. So i don't think that sensor at the front would have any affect any more ?

Yeah we have tried that. and the gauge went to red so we know that works and we have replaced the sender on the head.

touch the wire to an earthed source (engine, body) and the temp guage should go off the scale. if it doesnt, then test the other wire, if that doesnt your guage or loom is borked.
And if it sparks you have the wrong wire :bomb:
