Ours does that too , but most disconcertingly it likes to comes in to the toilet in the morning whilst I'm having a dump , sits there as if to say " what are you doing "

How bizarre, mine does the same. I can reach to the vanity sink tap and scare him off pretty quick. I do recall him once jumping in the tub (regular habit), but a flannel had blocked it from fully draining, so he didn't see the 4 inches of water. It was like a fish pulled up onto a jetty, flapping about, thought he'd never dare enter the bathroom again.
