While it seems excessive you have to look at the other side of the coin. If you studied to become a Lawyer and then opened up a practice where you had overheads you would understand the fees. It's not just Lawyrers who charge what you deem is unfair, it's across any Professional you do business with.

That's cheap, most (good lawyers) charge $400-$450 per hour with a minimum one hour block.

I reckon i've got a better chance of getting you to keep your stupid comments to yourself than i do of getting them to do anything about their higher than standard speed bumps. Fyi just because someone posts something it doesn't mean you have dribble faeces.

if you ever come down to Melbourne don't go to Bayswater Woolworths, or atleast don't use the exit straight off mountain highway.

As a member of this profession we work extremely hard to be able to charge such figures and this can only be obtained through years of practice hard work and dedication. No one ever walked into a law degree.

NB there are some unscrupulous characters who charge over and above the given rate but this charge seems standard

I had a work cover case 4 years ago.
Went to court, I won. The QC Barrister's cost.....$3000 per hour.
Junior Barrister......$2000 per hour.
Those costs I think were time spent in the court room and in negotiation.
Anyway, I won, so the other party had to pay their costs .

So the Barrister's were worth every cent. Having a QC fight for you on a work cover case is quite impressive, their hourly rates are insane. But only the select few are chosen and they are amazing.
