Saw some posts about the build up in the throttle body and decided to have a look myself due to my accelerator pedal being a bit sticky.

sure enough....gunky black build up...few mm's thick.

after the clean throttle was nice and smooth....little bit more responsive.

all these pics are on my profile explaining the arrows etc...

not sure how this will come out...let us kno wat ya rekn!

Being manual or auto has nothing to do with the throttle body, the manual just doesnt have the kickdown cable hooked up, it doesnt take long at all you can do it on the car or off may aswell get some Throttle body cleaner and clean it all out aswell, remember dont take to much off or it will be restricting again :p

I still don't quite understand what we do if I manually pull the throttle cable, and I'm about 1cm from the stopper if I try pretty hard. (Being unable to make it to the stopper, means no point in grinding back?)

Note: I still havent taken the air intake tube off. (Or whatever you pro's would call it).

I've ventured around it a little but can't see any obvious ways of doing this, thanks for any reply.
P.S Sorry for posting in an old thread.

Have you gotten a mate to get in the car and put his foot on the Acc to see if the cable is opening the T/B up all the way, if its not then no dout the cable is streached.

if you take the T/B off and open it by hand fully to the stopper and see if the butterfly in the middle is straight and not on an angle, tahts what this thread is about, making sure the Butterfly is opening up to its fullest, if its not well your car could be running abit better if it is. some of them there is no reason to touch them but just make sure if you do it that you dont take to much off the stopper because it will be restricting it, like i already said some months ago :p
