Hi all, just given my car bonnet a cut and polish as the swirl marks were annoying me. Now what I found while polishing was that I have about 6 or 7 small patches of these little white spiderweb looking cracks, at least I think they are cracks. I had noticed them before i polished the car but after polishing they seem to stand out even more, and being a black car it is an ugly sight. If i run my fingernail over them it is still quite smooth but i can feel them compared to good parts of the bonnet. I was thinking it may have just been the clear coat and i could wet sand and polish it out, but the more i look at it im not so sure, do you think the cracks are under the clear coat and what are my options?
Any advice would be good. Cheers

Looks like bird crap etching, only way to fix is a re spray

Could try a light wet sand to level it abit and re polish

That clear is farkd. Leave it a bit longer and it will start flaking.
Blocking it back and re-clearing won't help.

I recommend sanding off the clear back to base coat, prime it, block it, paint it (COB)

Yeah thats exactly what it is, just did a bit more research and found some photos of other cars with the same thing. I wish the person that owned the car before me made a bit more of an effort to wash crap off the car.

I agree with Ari, it looks like a previous repair. Towards the top left of the first pic it looks like the clear, or the paint beneath has fried up a bit

If you don't plan on getting it fixed straight away, it would probably be a good idea to leave it alone since the more you try and fix it the worse it'll get
