EV's only make sense if the source of the jiggawatts is clean energy. Interestingly, hybrids actually work out much better. I watched an interesting TED talk on it. Found it.

VZ Crewman, VZ Cross 8, & ya mum.
Just watched it.

Says a lot. Is a realistic point of view.

If we were to say, right we all are going to work from home and we need these hitech difficult to repair computers to do it.

However there is not yet a broad band network available to support it. In fact the broad band drops out all the time. Then there is people who can’t afford the new hitech computers. So they go looking for second hand ones. However they need fixing and no one can easily fix them.

I don’t think things would work out as expected but a bunch of computer companies will clean up.

Fair comment to say that is exactly what we have now

Well that’s in part because planned obsolescence has come home to roost :p

How any business can design and build stuff with planned obsolescence as an important cornerstone of their business yet state they care about the environment is the crux of the problem. But companies just love their PR whitewash as they always come out clean.

It’s all about gaming the system to maximise profit and telling us dumb folks that all this hardship we’ll have is for our own benefit…

As a species we are well and truely fcuked but just don't know it yet. Those at the top of the pile seem to be a different breed so they may be less fcuked… But once armed robotic security guards are a staple among the rich, we the messes will be even more fcuked…

The following was in 2019

Imagine what another 20 - 50 years of robotic development will bring… Nothing good for the masses I suspect :(

Elysium won’t be floating around earth but the wealthy will almost certainly live in their own enclaves on ground and protected by Atlas and his mates… The rest of us, meat sacks to be harvested for their organs thanks to the Meta data mining available to match organs…

The world could be a meld of the following :p
