Put a turbo on and get a tune for 15 psi the motor can handle it.

The internal parts are different on a super 6 like stronger pistons. Might be ok for awhile till it gives in. Well that's what I read about them years ago.

The old ecotec can take plenty, the trick is not getting to greedy and as others have mentioned, it's all in the tune.

Yes the pistons and rods are stronger. The very late VY had the series 3 buick l67 rods, I had to rebuild one and source the fucked rod from the US.
In saying that the sintered rods are fairly cheap from the US and far superior to the early style L67 rods. But the second harmonic is one killer when you go to dual row chains and the weak engine block. Best turbo them with a low RPM grind on the cam or stock cam and make all the power down low keep the single row chain and balance shaft to keep the block from singing.

Big cranky cams are for strong blocks it doesn't matter how many cylinders an engine has it's the harmonics you have to dampen out with excess metal be it iron or aluminum.
