So... rego's coming up soon and I'm looking to get some new tyres put on my chasers

I could either go out and buy a set of Maxxis/Pirelli 205/65's (would probably cost around $350 plus fitting)

OR I can get a set of 215/60 Kumho KH15's fitted for $440.

Alternatively, I could get Nankang 215/60's fitted for $100 each. Going a 215 would be ideal because of the wider rim. Have heard of Nankang but not much experience as I've never driven a car with these on.

Just wanted some opinions - would the Kumho's be a good buy? I have Kumho KU31's on my car at the moment and they aren't bad tyres at all.

Thanks guys :)

215 even on the 7 inch wide rims is kinda pointless to be honest. The extra 1.5cm's of tire does bugger all really. Stick with 205/65. I would suggest spending the extra coin and getting some better tyres.

I have had both walesy. Found the only real difference between 225's on the 15x7's and the 205's was bigger sidewall and bigger flexing around corners.

I thought 215 would be suited more suited to the 7's? My Calais stockies are 16x7 from memory with 215 on them that's why I had to ask :p

I know that the 205's will fit on the rim but I thought they were more the 6 inch rims? My mate runs these on his silver stockies

Would save me a bit of money if I went for 205's on the 7's I guess... Any suggestions?

I'm not after anything too upmarket, just some good entry to mid-range tyres for cruising :rofl2:

Stick with the 205's. Much cheaper. I had cheap and nasty triangles that actually held up ok for what they were.
