Its in a VL wagon. When its on High beam the lights are very dull but there is still something there. Would that happen if it was the fuse?

could happen if the fuse is only partial making contact i suppose
deff pop the lid and look at it, you should see its all melted.
grab some pliers and pull the fuse out and replace it if you can

have you cahnged the globes for any new ones? which are more brighter, longer whiter etc??

do you drive with you full beam on alot? at night
this can cause to much draw on the circit and cause over heating on the rail,

your best bet is to check the fuse box/rail first, if its not there try the indercator stalk/light switch, ive had the light switch break its connection on one of my vls before

hahah ive had a worse time with lights. Doing silly buisness in my old VN on a dirt road about 10km away from my house and it was pitch black. I had my hi beams on BAM they went off, we were like 'meh'. So i use my lows for a total of 2 seconds and BAM they are gone too....

I had nothing in the middle of this dirt road at 12pm. Sooooo me and my friend (who was in the car with me) just flicked on the hazard lights and used them to light the road :D. We made police car noises allll the way home :D

BUT to help with the thread, a fuse actually melted into the fuse box so i had to drop another one in. Pretty annoying, the hi's kept on dropping out but the Lo's worked fine
