If your not running an amp choose some 4ohm units with a high efficiency rating. Stock headunits put out around 7 Watts RMS per channel, piddly stuff.

There's thousands of aftermarket options from $10 Supercheap jobbies to multiple thousand dollar high end speakers. You might need to specify a goal and budget? Nobody in their right mind would actually upgrade to the SSV stuff. If you are going to put in the time, effort and money you would actually do it properly. Don't get me wrong SSV would sound better than base model stuff. But is easily surpassed in quality for equivalent dollars spent.
