Using knock sensor on a standard V8

Hi

Is there any benefit in wiring up a knock sensor on a standard V8 without a modified memcal/chip? I already have the sensor as the last owner had a modified chip and it ran in a VP commodore. Now I have a VS Statesman ECM auto.

It probably won't plug in anyway as there are no vacant 15 terminals...

it wont do anything unless the memcal has it all enabled
