ok guys, need help. I have a genuine slim hardlid. Central looking works so I can only assume wiring loom and fuses are all good. The previous owner changed the struts. There is a ring with a power or earth terminal on the shaft near the lid, at the ball joint end in the tub there is a wire just hanging out the tub liner. And obviously the light isn't working nor is the alarm when the hard lid is manually unlocked and opened. Any ideas?

Cheers.

Sounds as though the struts are installed upside down, the ball socket is the same at each end of the strut.

Turn the R/H strut around, hook up the cable and everything should work.

Have been in hospital so haven't been able to look at hardlid until today. So are u saying the cylinder end should attach to the lid and the shaft to the tub or vise versa?

Sweet so I'll turn them around but how does the wiring working? There is a cable with a female blade coming from the lid connected to a switch screwed to the shaft. There doesn't seem to be enough cable length if the strut was turned around?

Does anyone have a pic of theirs?
