hey guys im currentlydriving a vt v6, i have been told that stock vt v6's can handle low PSi turbos, i was curious if anyone had any idea of any kits i could use, what is needed to run a turbo on a v6 vt.

ive been told i could pretty much run piping to the turbo, then a pod filer/intercooler, seems alittle too simple....

any help would really be appreciated.

a stock ecotec should handle 10psi IF properly tuned WITH a proper fuel system.

as for kits, try Boost obsession (user name is commotion on this site) or try proflow. you'll also see kits popping up on ebay occasionally.

there are heaps of V6 turbo build threads on here so lots of info to find/use

To answer the original question, the v6's are a lot stronger than most people think. I have seen ecotecs take over 15psi for some time. 10psi is a level of boost than can be run daily for many years. It all depends on the tune.

There is quite a bit more to turbocharging than what you described, the easiest way is to find a reputable kit and this will leave minimal parts to source before you finish the project.
