V8 304 wiring from alternator

Hey lads, i know its rough but just wondering where my earths should be going and the brown wires coming from the alternator ill post some pics
Would help alot cheers

what gives with the change in wire gage
blue to brown
and purple to black
you are looking at a fire
are you attempting a "big 3 upgrade"

Yea i know its shocking mate. Just trying to find why its not starting before i get to cleaning it all up

Yes that circled wire is an earth and it is in the correct position.
Maybe just check the crimps are good so you know it's transferring current correctly.

The circled wire was originally an earth strap which has been upgraded to something much larger (and uglier).

One of the wires from the alternator goes to the battery and the other goes to the dash (battery) light.

Does the main earth wire from the battery connect to the engine block by the engine mount?

It not starting is not related to the alternator. Check the wiring for the starter solenoid and relay.
