It'll chip,

I would of used oven cleaner for about 10minutes, then wear gloves an wash under warm water, it'll take the chrome off the plastic, then you will be left with a raw off white plastic,

Step 2 is some black RIT dye, & some near boiling water for 30minutes, Then remove it.

You have a dyed black badge that will never chip or scratch.

WINNER

--- Same method for R/C car & truck wheels :)

P.S- Using Primer that is not Plastic Primer, Defeats the purpose of using Plastic Paint.. Just thought I would point that out.

Reckon that method would work with a full chassis that was originally molded in grey plastic?

Just tried this on a badge and the oven cleaner did nothing? Maybe I need a stronger product? Any advice?
