Found out today the new HSVs will have SatNav as standard and get new side sensors, like reverse sensors but for the sides hahaha.

No not at all like reverse sensors. They're for automatic park assist. The car will parallel park itself using radar locators on the sides. Just a sales gimmick if you ask me. If you can't park your car you should hand your licence in and walk.

They are exactly like reverse sensors, they both use radar to detect distance to objects.

From what i've heard, the satnav will be standard on the calais & ssv aswell plus reverse parking sensors(sportwagons have them as standard atm).

I'd have the Self-Park.

I'd never actually use it but it'd be a cool gimmick to show off to your mates

I can see it now... HSV after HSV attempting to park itself in Sydney's CBD in spaces not quite big enough. Oh dear. I didn't back into the lambo, officer... It was the car!

You press a button and the car measures the space as you drive by it then lets you know if it will fit, then it uses the side sensors to judge the distance to the gutter.
