I've checked the level and it's at max while running at temp, is there another check I should do for the reservoir?

Does the noise still occur when the car is jacked up?

Hey guys thanks for the responses, with the car jacked up theirs a screeching noise as I move from full lock to full lock although the noise when pressing the throttle is almost not present. Just a tiny noise when as a I first begin to put my foot down. Looks alright to me with the wheels off

Sounds like the power steering pump has been working overtime and has turned up it’s toes.
Does the power steering feel a bit heavier when idling ?,
Does the Power steering feel a bit lighter when you give it a bit of a rev ?

Don’t suppose you have been doing donuts of recent ?

Doesn’t sound like power steering pump noise to me mate, that’s more of a whirring, whining type noise usually

I had to change a Power Steering Pump for the "exact same questions I asked",
as a family friends car "2012 V6 Thunder Ute" had a very similar fault.
[Because he F%*^&*^ the power steering pump while doing donuts from lock to lock]!
I checked the sound it was making with a Mechanics Stethoscope and it sounded stuffed.
We went to the wreckers, got a replacement Pump, flushed the power steering out, and that fixed the fault.
So I was just Throwing the Questions out there !, as I had come across a similar issue for a friend mate !

Hey mate nah I Haven't felt a difference in the feeling of the power steering at all really. Been a fair while since doing any donuts in this thing haha. The noise started straight after I had a mechanic put a new alternator in but never got around to going back to him

That sounds a lot like strut top bearings but the first thing I'd do is power steering fluid. Fresh fluid works wonders sometimes.

Hey guys ended up taking it into the mechanic, turns out the previous mechanic didn't properly tighten the alternator down and the fan belt was loose ah well at least it wasn't anything major. Thanks for all your help!
