2012 SERIES 2 SV6 VE
Hi All,

So i just got a 2012 series 2 VE and the first thing i did was upgrade the speakers thinking that will help...but guess what the factory speakers sounded better than the ones i bought.

Polk audio 2 ways....there is no bass at all, so i bought some alpine ones they go down to 35hz and once again no bass... both these speakers are 4ohms.... switch back to stock speakers (2ohms) as shown in picture attached and boom.. bass!!! what the heck is so special about the stock speakers and why are the ones im buying not bassy?

HELP!!! is it the ohm's?

Mate, if you want bass, you need a sub.

You also need an amplifier to power decent speakers. Swapping out the speakers will definitely make the sound CLEARER, but not necessarily louder as the stock head unit doesn't put out enough power. An amplifier/speaker/subwoofer setup is the way to go.

You should go into an audio place get have a chat with someone who knows what they are talking about ;)
