If your after a cost effective method why not just deaden and seal the doors?

It will give you a noticeable volume increase and better bottom end without 'doof doof'

I got a set of pioneer 260 watt(don't know the series or rms) but they were ten times better then stock, but if you've got money to burn there are a lot better speakers out there. They don't distort (not noticably anyway) haven't had the volume to max and never plan to but for 60$, haha best audio mod I have done!

Any after market speaker is going to be better than stock, honestly, just go to your local Jb hifi and get a set of splits and read on how to take apart the door and tweeter trim. Youll like it =]

2012 ve sv6 series 2
Hi mate,
I did a speaker upgrade in my series 2. Just got some kicker CSS654 splits for the front and CS65 coaxials for the rear.
Both sets are 6.5" and have a shallow base so they fit flawlessly into the stock 6" mounting hole. I originally hooked them up to the IQ system to see how they sounded running of that compared to stock speakers. not MUCH of a difference, but they could handle a little more volume as opposed to the stock paper cones. Quality definitely improved. But they do distort quiet early, around 32 volume.
I now have them running off an amp, that's a different story.
did you had to change the stock wiring?
