VE SS ute vs. Maloo

Hey guys, I'm looking to upgrade to a v8 ute but am on a budget and ideally don't want to spend any more than 35k. I was wondering if there were any particular years/series of the ss utes/maloos that are better than the others? wouldn't mind one that will hold its value quite well? Also, I were to go ahead and drop extra cash on a maloo would it be worth considering a Gen-F over one of the E-series?

Love my VE Redline Ute, 6.2L in the VF would be nice - not sure about Oz but you wouldn't get a VF or HSV for under $35k here
